The last week of September was a busy one for New York City as it played host to its annual climate event, which brought together global business leaders, heads of government, key decision makers and sustainability-focused innovators with the aim of accelerating climate action.
Climate Week NYC took place from September 22-29, coinciding with the United Nations General Assembly meetings, and spanned over 600 events across the city. This year’s iteration of the event focused on the theme of time in an effort to stress on the urgent need to address the climate crisis as global temperatures in 2024 amount to be the highest on record, threatening the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting temperature rises to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
